I can&#039;t believe how many marketing departments in 2009 with the economy in the dumper are still saying &quot;... we&#039;re going to get around to measuring their tactics and studying ROI.&quot;  How much more urgency do they need?  What are they waiting for?  

Here&#039;s the beauty of it all -- some data is better than none.  Just the discipline that is created by measuring 2-3 data points daily/weekly and making adjustments to your marketing tactics is a huge step in the right direction.  Once that discipline is established, more data points can be measured/monitored and before they know it -- these marketers will be running their business by a dashboard and removing the guesswork from what they&#039;re telling their CFO&#039;s.   Ah -- the possibilities!
